Join me Thursday and Saturday mornings for alignment based yoga, which differs from vinyasa in that poses are intelligently chosen to compliment specific detail and allow for enough time within the shape to create strength, endurance, flexibility, joint mobility and bring the mind to sensation for deep contemplation. My classes combine yoga poses with upper back and core movements, conscious breathing, self reflective contemplation, and self massage to open the body and connect with breath, thought, emotion, energy, and each other!
WHEN:
Thursdays at 9:15am and 10:30am
Saturdays at 8:30am and 10am
~all classes are an hour~

I often get asked what style of yoga I teach, and you would think after all this time I would have a definitive answer. But the truth is, my teaching has evolved over the years just as my practice has. It is not just one thing. One of the beautiful aspects of yoga, and what keeps me so interested, is that there is no end, no goal, and no one thing to obtain. It is a combination of things that bring you home to yourself. Unraveling the layers you've picked up in a day, a week, a year, this lifetime, and connect you to your core, your true essence, the Atman (Soul). With yoga there is always more to explore and reveal through our dedication to studentship and self growth. Our journey on the mat can foster understanding of how true liberation is bound to one another, and until we create equity around the world, then and only then will anyone be truly free. It is this revelation that ignites my passion to teach from the heart and inspire connection to Self, Source, and Community.
My classes are accessible to all levels and abilities, including those brand new to the practice. My style is eclectic from many decades of being a student. I first began and fell in love with vinyasa yoga, but have evolved to a more deliberate and slow alignment based format, not to say we won't move with the breath, but I have grown tired of sun salutations and feel there are way more fun and inventive ways to warm the body, safer and quicker and to link poses or sequences together. Each class I teach is different, you never quite know what to expect because I like to mix things up, yet have preferences that will become familiar over time. I love to incorporate conscious breathing, massage, guided imagery, information of the chakras and themes that connect to natural cycles of seasons, astrology, and the moon, as well as yoga philosophy and Hindu mythology.
Whether class is gentle and slow moving, focused on stretching, or a quicker pace, focused on building strength and endurance, you will always feel better balanced in your body, mind, energy, and spirit, feeling better than when you walked in.
On Patreon.com I have three subscription tiers that will give you access to new monthly content themed on the cycle of the moon. Her passage through the astrological constellations help our personal transformation on the path of evolving our Soul's journey. New content adds to more than 20 full length yoga classes recorded over the last 2 years, as well as, shorter stretching videos, guided meditations and journaling prompts to deepen your personal practice.
Memberships start as low as $8/month. You can change or cancel at any time. Practice in a way that fits your schedule, lifestyle, and mood, for a fully individualized home experience.
This is the perfect class to end the week and send you into the weekend more calm, clear, and relaxed. To strengthen, stretch, and restore. The first half of class offers standing poses held (suitable to all levels) as a way to build strength and burn away the stress of the mind that grips the soft tissues of the body. The second half of class offers seated stretches to bring about a calm that leads into the release of chilling comfortably, propped up in restorative poses. Please have available blankets, a cushion, blocks, and any other props you enjoy for a restorative practice.
This is a virtual class offered through Yoga For Everybody and can be accessed through their website or in person at the studio in the Sportsplex.
Megan's May 6th class was among the best I've taken with her. She provides clear, thoughtful instruction, grounded upon an effective, organizing message or image.
One of the things that distinguishes Megan is her ability to ground the sequence of postures upon an organizing theme or image that gives added depth to the class. In a recent class she had us assume postures, some of them quite distinctive, for longer times than usual, to build discomfort in us. To be sure, this is something many teachers do, to help us become aware of the mental chatter that arises in response to strenuous effort, or simply to have us learn to "sit still" with a challenge. Megan took it deeper: Drawing upon a recent experience of grief, she outlined how darker sensations and experiences might prompt positive transformation. She explained this efficiently, with just a few well chosen words (unlike the longer "sermons" that precede some other teacher's classes", letting the postures do the real communicating.
Megan is a strong teacher and this class did, indeed, point toward the possibility of positive transformation.

Check out this video of a class FEELING THE FLUX themed on Spanda, or the pulsation of energy, that can be addressed and effected through yoga. This class was designed to challenge you with tricky transitions, a complicated apex pose, as well as moments spent in stillness, to feel and become aware of what fluctuates in our quiet spaces.
