Sthira Sukham Asanam – Steadiness and Ease in all things
Sutra 46 is an immersive program designed to fully prepare you to teach yoga from an authentic place of inspiration, knowledge, creativity, and compassion. This program is a culmination of our devoted asana and meditation practices, including thousands of hours in the yoga classroom, along with hard-won courage to shift our energy and our lives through numerous personal breakthroughs. We want to share this empowerment with you through honest expression and teaching yoga.
Subjects that will be covered include:
What if I don't want to actually teach?
No problem, just take Part 1. We have designed the first half of the training for those who want to delve deeper into the study of yoga, and to improve their own practice. It’s also great for students who simply want to have a transformational experience and to be a part of a Yoga Community without the desire to teach. The deep dive track meets for the first 6 weekends of the program and is priced at half the cost. If you sign up for the deep dive and decide you would like to finish the program to become a teacher, you can continue the program as long as you decide before the first half ends. You will have up until the end of the 4th month of training to pay the second half of the tuition.
What if I have physical/health limitations?
We recommend that you check with your physician first and we will require all students to sign a waiver stating that you are able to take the class. Keep in mind that we all have limitations of one kind or another, and these can be our best teachers. Also, minor physical limitations can serve as helpful demonstrations to learn to work with students with similar limitations.
What are the graduation requirements?
In order to graduate the program you must be paid in full and fulfill the following requirements:
Our program offers the highest standards of foundational yoga content; philosophy, anatomy and physiology. You will explore your personal layers – awaken to your truth on every level and reconnect to your deepest resources of self-awareness, compassion, and courage.
Lauren happened upon a yoga class in NYC in 1994 and was instantly taken. Within 2 years, she pursued teaching and received her certification from the White Lotus Foundation of Santa Barbara, CA. Her training is based in Iyengar and Ashtanga yoga and she practiced and taught in NYC, learning from many of the great American Yogis at that time.
After the birth of her first child, she and her family moved to Fairfield, CT where she has been teaching yoga since 1999. With age and experience, Lauren began to turn her focus to more subtle and gentle practices for herself and soon after pursued a Reiki Mastership and Yoga Nidra Instructor certification. A yoga practice addresses all levels of consciousness, body, mind and spirit and throughout all of her challenges and successes, through the painful, scary times and the beautiful, light-filled times, yoga is the source of solid foundation and of transformation in her life.
Lauren is a natural teacher and this training is the culmination of her life's work, combining her love of physical movement, intellectual inquiry, emotional discovery and shared community. This training has been lovingly crafted to encompass all that Lauren, and her gifted co-creator Megan, deem essential for a deep and meaningful yoga experience.
Megan found yoga as a teenager after seeking help in processing traumatic childhood events. What quickly developed was a deep love affair that offered a window into the soul, a place eager to return day after day. Daily mat time was a way to connect with her body in a healthy and empowering way. With supportive teachers within Ashtanga, Anusara and Vedanta Tantric traditions she learned how this practice was way more than physical. Yoga gave her hope for a better tomorrow and broke her from victimhood. Drawn to extensive study of the energy centers, she teaches how a strong foundation of support is an essential building block to create a healthy body, open heart, intuitive mind, and a fulfilling life. In 2000 she became a Licensed Massage Therapist, in 2005 a Reiki Master, in 2009 completed her 200hr Certification with The Shambhava School of Yoga at the Eldorado Mountain Ashram near Boulder, CO, and in 2021 gained her 300hr Certification with Amy Ippoliti at Vesselify School of Yoga also in Boulder. More than 20 years in the Massage and Yoga industries, her extensive knowledge and experience helped co-create this well rounded Hatha Yoga Training. Blessed with Lauren's abundant gifts, the curriculum is steeped in tradition connecting body, mind, soul.
